living near wildlife
Wildlife is a regular part of life in mountain communities. Animals like deer, bears, raccoons, and birds often pass through residential areas, drawn by food and shelter. Residents play a key role in keeping interactions safe by securing trash, removing attractants, and respecting natural habitats.
bear activity
As the weather warms, bear activity increases. Bears come out of hibernation in stages—starting with adult males, followed by younger bears, and finally mothers with cubs. After hibernation, bears are hungry and often drawn to human food sources. To avoid attracting bears eliminate food sources around your property by securing trash, removing bird feeders and do not keep pet food outside.
If you observe bear activity in the area, please notify your neighbors and Clear Creek Tahoe Security Team.
